Hi I was in New York from 19th June 2013 for 7 days, purchased some items of Pandora at Peachtree on fifth spent 440.96 dollars, purchased the new Pandora bangle for myself just over 2 month. Now the clasp will not close, tried to take the bangle back to Pandora Newcastle Upon Tyne UK where I live to get repaired. All I got that because it was purchased in USA I will have to pay for this repair. I did have my receipt with me. Do I not get any guarantee or warranty just when I go on holiday I always buy something from Pandora. Can you help please?

Answer:

Hi Kim, Thanks for your query. Please note that with every Pandora item purchased from authorized Pandora retailers, you automatically get one year free warranty. The warranty cannot be claimed if you damage the jewelry by misuse etc. But in your case it looks that you can claim your warranty.

To claim it:

i) You must visit the same retailer from where you purchased Pandora bangles. Other Pandora stores will not accept your claim. So next time you visit the Pandora at Peachtree in USA, you can get your bangles repaired for free. Or they may replace if it cannot be repaired.

ii) Take your receipt with you. Without it you cannot claim warranty.

iii) Claim your warranty withing 1 year after the purchase.

You can also get your bangles repaired from any Pandora store in UK but you will have to pay for it.

Thanks for this reply, going to new york is not something I do a lot. My next holiday will be in September next year going to Vagas for my nieces wedding. So the only way to get this guarantee is to purchase Pandora in your home town? Nobody I know is aware of this, when purchasing any Pandora items. As I did think Pandora is world wide and did think guarantee would be welcome if you have a problem and have your receipt. I hope nothing else go wrong as I did purchase the bride and groom charm for 2 of my nieces for their wedding day. Their 1st wedding is next week.

I would just like to know why I’m just getting cover from this shop and not a manufacturers warranty, for example I have an iPhone with a certain network which I did not purchase insurance for. But was still covered by a 12 month manufacture warranty with apple when I took into their store they were able to help.

I have also looked online at the pandora site regarding the warranty and all it says is to keep your receipt not that i also have to go back to the same store. i have added the link below about the warranty information i was looking at

I have also looked on the American website as that is where it was purchased from and in the terms I can’t see anything about returning to the original store and where it was talking about fixing a damaged item it says ” We would advise that you return to the store where the item was originally purchased. If this is inconvenient, please contact any PANDORA retailer for assistance.”

Thanks for reply. You have done a lot research. As you have quoted their policy in last para above, customer is advised to contact same retailer for fixing damage. They also told that if it is not convenient then you should visit your nearby store. But they did not mention that that nearby store will fix your jewelry for free, if it is in warranty. The nearby store will help you in fixing but will charge for that :-)

I also don’t like this policy. It is not convenient for customers. But we have to live with it.
